Mistborn: Secret History is a fantasy novella by American author Brandon Sanderson, written as a companion story to the original trilogy of the Mistborn series. The novella follows the story of Kelsier from the time of his death in Mistborn: The Final Empire and concludes with the events of the last book in the original trilogy, The Hero of Ages.

Kelsier decides to explore the Cognitive Realm and find a way to return to the Physical Realm and help his friends in their fight against the Lord Ruler. Along the way, he encounters various characters and creatures from different worlds of the Cosmere, such as Hoid, Khriss, Nazh, and the Ire. He also witnesses some of the events of the original trilogy from a different perspective, such as Vin's ascension to godhood, the release of Ruin, and the final confrontation between Vin and Ruin.
Kelsier also learns more about the nature of the Shards of Adonalsium, the fragments of a primordial god that were split by sixteen people who became gods themselves. He discovers that Preservation and Ruin are two of these Shards, and that they made a pact to create life on Scadrial, the world of Mistborn. He also learns that there are other Shards on other worlds, such as Autonomy, Cultivation, Devotion, and Honor.
The novella ends with Kelsier finding a way to communicate with Spook, one of his former crew members who has become a leader of the survivors after the cataclysmic events of The Hero of Ages. He gives him a message for his friends and a hint about a metal that can store Investiture, the power of the Shards.
